The IB Educational model develops learners who are:
Pursuing the Full IB Diploma.
The IB Diploma is an additional award that can be earned from the International Baccalaureate. The Harbor High diploma earned for graduation is different from IB Diploma. Students receive their scores from IB after they graduate. In order to earn the full IB Diploma, IB requires students to:

Complete seven IB courses and their formal assessments across the required subjects throughout the 11th & 12th grades

Three IB courses ar 2-year courses (HL), and three are 1-year courses (SL)

A 2-year IB Theory of Knowledge (TOK) course

Complete the IB core requirements and assessments of TOK, CAS, EE:

Creativity Activity and Service Portfolio (CAS): Student driven and directed experiences and reflection over the course of 11th and 12th grades

Extended Essay (EE): a self-directed, inquiry-driven research paper anchored in an IB subject of the student’s choosing

Earn a total score from IB of 24 or more from all the assessment components of the six IB courses and the IB core (TOK, EE, CAS)

What is IB?
The International Baccalaureate® (IB) offers a continuum of international education through four challenging, high quality educational programmes to students aged 3 to 19. The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (DP) is an educational opportunity for 16-19 year olds, and it is the program currently offered to students at Harbor High in the 11th and 12th grades.
IB’s learner profile and approaches to teaching and learning support teachers and students at Harbor High to work across disciplines, developing intercultural and conceptual understandings in order to navigate our complex world.
The aim of all IB programs is to develop international-minded people, who recognizing their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet help to create a better and more peaceful world.
